Homegrown Horsemanship
Program

A homeschool-only program blending horsemanship, equine science, and riding—through hands-on learning at the barn.

Program Dates: March 2 – April 22 (8 Week Program)
Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays | 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Ages: 9–13
Spots: 6 students max

Total Tuition: $575


Payment Plan Option: $150 non-refundable deposit.

  • Remaining $425 balance due March 2 on-site (first day of the program)

  • Spot is reserved once the deposit is paid

What Students Can Expect:

Horse Care & Barn Skills

Students will learn:

  • Daily horse care routines (feeding, grooming, tacking/untacking)

  • Stall and pasture management

  • Basic health checks and safety practices

  • Respectful handling and barn etiquette

Why it matters: Students gain confidence through responsibility and routine—learning what it truly takes to care for a horse.

​

Equine Psychology & Behavior

Students will explore:

  • How horses think and communicate

  • Reading body language

  • Herd dynamics and leadership

  • Building trust through clear cues

​

Why it matters: This portion helps students develop emotional awareness, patience, and empathy—skills that translate far beyond the barn.

Equine Anatomy & Movement

Students will learn:

  • Basic skeletal and muscular anatomy

  • How horses move and balance

  • Why proper care and riding matter for horse health

​

How it’s taught: Lessons are hands-on through observation and movement, making science tangible and engaging.

Riding & Horsemanship

Students will:

  • Learn correct riding position and balance

  • Practice basic riding skills at an appropriate level

  • Understand how aids and cues work

  • Develop confidence, coordination, and communication

​

Safety first: Mounted time is always paired with instruction on safety, respect, and partnership with the horse.
