
Volunteer Manager
The Volunteer Manager plays a vital leadership role at Equestrian Bridges by overseeing all aspects of volunteer engagement, training, and coordination. This position ensures volunteers are well-prepared, supported, and aligned with Equestrian Bridges’ mission, safety standards, and program goals.

Working closely with staff, instructors, and the Equine Team, the Volunteer Manager leads volunteer orientations and ongoing trainings, manages volunteer scheduling, and serves as the primary point of contact for volunteers. This role also oversees the Bloomerang Volunteer Portal, ensuring accurate tracking, communication, and organization of volunteer involvement.
The Volunteer Manager works hands-on in a horse-centered environment and supports program sessions as needed, requiring prior horse experience and a strong understanding of safety and horsemanship. Through strong leadership, organization, and communication, this role helps create a welcoming, efficient, and mission-driven volunteer program.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Recruiting, training, scheduling, and supporting volunteers across all programs

Leading volunteer orientations and ongoing training sessions

Managing the Bloomerang Volunteer Portal, including onboarding, scheduling, and hour tracking

Serving as the primary point of contact for volunteers

Teaching and enforcing volunteer procedures, safety protocols, and expectations

Working hands-on with horses during sessions as needed

Collaborating with instructors, equine staff, and leadership to ensure adequate volunteer coverage

Supporting special events, outreach, and program activities

Qualifications:

Experience leading, coordinating, or managing volunteers

Horse experience required (therapeutic riding or barn experience preferred)

Strong communication and group leadership skills

Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple responsibilities

Comfortable using volunteer management systems (Bloomerang preferred)

Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor, and animal-centered environment
